Yantai-based Jereh Group, a private Chinese oil and gas equipment manufacturing company, released the world’s first electric-drive fracturing equipment on April 20. The drive will significantly reduce costs and improve the efficiency of shale gas extraction.

China has the largest proven reserves of shale gas globally. And among the integrated solutions Jereh Group provides at home and abroad, its new equipment roll-out has a smaller footprint, lighter weight and fewer carbon emissions.

Jereh, the first Chinese company to sell shale gas exploration equipment to the US market, has been investing in research and development of core equipment that can handle China’s poor road conditions and the small size of its well sites.

Over 130 Jereh clients attended the roll-out held on site at the companies Yanti facilities. This included epresentatives from CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC as well as international clients from Russia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E and Oman.

In December 2018, Jereh delivered four skid mounted fracturing units to Russia. The equipment was purpose fit for use in Russia’s extreme winter weather. China-Russia bi-lateral trade grew 24.8 percent in the first half of 2018, reaching $24.1 billion, as described on Jereh’s website. That amount was expected to quadruple by the end of the year to $100 billion.

“Compared with foreign companies, our group is more familiar with China’s national conditions and development environment,” Company’s executive vice president, Li Zhiyong noted in a report on www.chinadaily.com.cn

Jereh’s electric-drive facturing equipment is expected to help achieve large-scale extraction of China’s unconventional energy, especially shale gas. This will further reduce the country’s dependence on foreign energy equipment.

By supplying more than 600 sets of large-scale oilfield equipment and four series of related products, Jereh is now the world’s largest manufacturer of oilfield production equipment.

It is also the only Chinese supplier to provide a complete set of shale gas fracturing equipment for North America.
